This resource contains 7 different comprehension activities linked to the celebration on Diwali. Each activity comes with 1 x story page and 1 x questions page. There is a short amount of information provided on each page and then 4 questions on another page - you can see examples in preview/thumbnail pictures. This is great for students to be able to read a passage and recall details from it, answering relevant questions while working on their reading and writing skills. It is related to Diwali to give a twist on the usual comprehension activities. The pages come in black and white for ink friendly printing. The images are eye catching and appropriate for young students who will find them engaging.

There are 6 animal items to match for each card. I recommend laminating each of the individual parts so that they will be stronger, longer lasting and re-usable. This resource is a great way for students to work on their sorting and categorising / categorizing skills. They are used with an Autism Classroom on a regular basis which have really helped to develop the children's understanding. As well as suiting an Autism Classroom, this resource would also benefit Spec Ed Classrooms and even Mainstream Classrooms.

It can help to encourage and promote reading and recognition of vocabulary related to objects found in a standard home. This resource is a great strategy to encourage students to read the words that they can see, but also to be able to understand that they can link the word to an actual image, Many students may learn to just read words but not understand the meaning behind them, this will help to work with students on working towards achieving this skill. This body parts adapted book is a great way for students to work on learning about different parts of their body and being able to match the image symbol to the correct page. This adapted book comes in both col and b/w option for your printing preference. This adapted book will be a great addition to your body unit. This is a great way to encourage students to pay close attention to detail and to become more familiar with sentence structure and symbols. The images included are; • arm • eye • leg • foot • nose • lips • ear • finger • hand Instructions • Cut out, laminate and bind each of the pages together to make this into a book. • Cut out and laminate each of the individual symbols. • Print and laminate the base board (last page in PDF file) • Put velcro onto the blank boxes on the pages in the adapted book and onto the back of the symbols. Also put velcro onto the base board. • Store symbols on the base board. When students work their way through the book they will choose the symbol that they need from the base board and then put it onto the page in the adapted book. The vocabulary is suitable for American or British classrooms. (Color, Colour etc.)
